Healthy living
The other day I was going through a web site called http://interviewwithgod.com, and one thing struck me profoundly. God says, Man loses health to make money, and then spends money to restore health.
Just look around, and we see that the above dictum is universally true and applicable to all the humans, save those who have been fortunate enough to really understand the meaning of life.
Various religions give their own meaning to life. But one thing remains the same in all religion,
LEAVE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE THAN YOU FOUND IT TO BE.
But do we do that. The answer is generally a huge NO.
So what should we do to make the World a better place. After all time is a constrain for many of us. We are all busy in our daily chores, and we have our own family life to take care of and its inherent problems to be solved. So who has the time to think of about the World and its problems.
Well, I would say that your contribution to the World would be to strive to be a better Family man, bring up your children in a better way, give them a sound and better understanding of what Love, relationships and nature is all about. That in itself is a great contribution from one's side. The world on the whole would be a better place once our children grow up into better citizens with Love and care for one another and also the nature.
Coming to the personal way of healthy living, everyone knows, either by experience or through some spiritual contacts, that leading a Healthy and happy life is something that is within our reach. Yet still, for a large number of us, living a healthy life is something which is considered important, but again, no time to spend on.
NO TIME TO SPEND ON YOUR HEALTH!. Doesn't that sound ridiculuos. Yes, but it remains a hard fact.
But for centuries and even in modern times, many of our spiritual leaders, have stressed on a simple but highly effective way to improve our life and life systems.
That method is to give more importance to our BREATH. Yes, our normal breathing, which we do as a matter of routine without even being aware of it. Thsi breathing holds the key to everything in our life. From well being to prosperity to good life to happiness to everything one can ask for.
Have we ever wondered that while we always dwell in the past or dream in the future, we rarely spend time in the present. The only thing that can either come back nor can be expected in future is the present moment, and yet it the least important thing for most of us.
But relax, there is a very simple technique to be in the present moment. Just sit in a relaxed posture (which ever is convinient to you) and close your eyes, do not think of anything, and just begin to concentrate on the breath coming in and out of the tip of your nostril. Initially you will find that your mind does not stay put on this activity, but with practice and in due course, you will begin to find it easy to concentrate for longer periods on your breath without any deviation in thoughts.
You will also find that as you concentrate more on your breath, your sight and point of concentration will move upwards from the tip of your nostril to the centre point between your eyebrows.
This simple form of meditation, even for 10 minutes a day will go a long way in improving your overall life. Try it.
